New Improved Service Provider Experience
On November 23, QuestionPoint installed a software update that changed the look and feel of the chat monitor. The new version improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the service provider experience, giving SPs more ability to customise the layout of information in the chat monitor. "Citation" Description Code now available

Available by popular demand!
QuestionPoint has added two new Description Codes, and one of them is the "Citation" code that many AskAwayers have requested! Now we can be much more specific than the generic "Ready Reference" description code.
The other new Description Code is "No Email", which doesn't apply to us anyway (as we all know, BC privacy law dictates that we cannot ask a patron's email.)

New Look for the Chat Monitor on Sunday!

On Sunday, November 23rd, QuestionPoint will be installing an update to the QP software. This will result in some changes to the look and feel (but not the basic functionality) of the chat monitor.
There are a lot of exciting improvements to the chat monitor in this update and it promises to improve the overall efficiency of the workflow and the speed of response between patron and service provider.

Jing <http://www.jingproject.com/> is a free, online tool that can be used to record a quick tutorial for a student and share it with them instantly. It's a great way to insert that instructional component into your AskAway sessions. Here's a great example of Jing in use:
"A Kwantlen student was very much a rookie, Biomed central had lots on Insite, it was 8;45 so I used Jing, she was able to view it. That is one cool tool…"

Refworks Help Pages

Helping a patron with Refworks, but don't have it at your library? Just never used it before? The Refworks Help Pages are available for free online, and they're really useful.
